We have been busy making a number of new improvements to the game. Feedback is welcome!
Change Your Appearance
Players now have the ability to set their own appearance. Type 'help' to see all the commands.
You must be standing in the Cryopods room to use this feature. You can change your gender, skin color, hair color, hair style, shirt color and pants color.
Vending Machines
We've updated the cafeteria with two vending machines:
Food - has extra items available now
Books - buy empty books to write in, as well as some published stories
Right click on the base of the vending machine to use (we will update it later).
Purchases will provide a confirmation message and deduct credits. We don't have any mechanics to add credits, but if you run out and need supplies, let an admin know - or ask one of your fellow players.
Write a Book
One of the books for purchase in the new vending machine is an empty one that you can write in - it's as easy to use as writing in notepad. The notes are saved, however please keep in mind that all data is reset when we do a new release, while we're in beta - so you may like to save a copy of your writing elsewhere until we've implemented a proper save system.
Light Switches
Players can now affect the lighting of a room. The commands to use are:
lights on
lights off
lights flickering
Please be considerate of others when using this command.
AFK and IDLE status
If you type AFK, you'll get an AFK moodlet above your head. You'll also have AFK shown beside your name in the WHO list. It will also be automatically applied to any player who is idle for more than 10 minutes. Moving your character or sending a text message will cancel the AFK status.
More Moodlets
We've added more moodlet types for when you talk with an exclamation point (!), ask a question (?), or use an interrobang (?!). More to come for further actions in the future.
Narrate Command
Previously known as echo, we've changed the command name to 'narrate'. The main purpose is for environmental emotes. Please don't power-game when using this command, we are trusting players to use it to enhance the roleplay experience of other players.
Discord Bot
We've added an integration with discord that sends message to the game-notifications channel to people know when players connect to the game, or call for help. It's a one-way read-only channel - you'll need to connect to the game to answer players.
AdminTeleport
This allows our admin to teleport to any room in an instant.
No More Doppelgangers
Old connections will be disconnected, when a player reconnects to the game.
Graphical Update
In a little experiment to make the map feel more alive, avatars now move slightly on the spot.
That's all for this week! Please test out the game and let us know what you think - your feedback is appreciated!
Thanks!
Stardust
Just another reminder that your character doesn't save when we make a new release - so you'll need to create them again.
HOWEVER there is an awesome feature in the client called 'Character Info' where you can save notes that will stay local on your machine:
Here you can add information like what color codes you like to use for your clothes - and anything else of interest you want to remember.
Speaking of color codes, here is a website that will help you find some:
https://htmlcolorcodes.com/color-chart/
For changing your gender, skin tone, hair style or hair color, you can pick from present options:
setskin playername=option#
E.g. setskin Stardust=2
The game will tell you how many options there are - and we will improve this feature in the future.
For clothes, you get more options already. You can either use the HEX code or RGB values by using the following commands:
setshirtcolor player=#hexvalue
or
setshirtcolor player=rgb(0,0,0)
So to make my shirt a teal color, I would use:
setshirtcolor Stardust=#17A589
or
setshirtcolor Stardust=rgb(23,165,137)
Have fun customizing! And feel free to ask for help on our Discord channel.
